HazDocs, by Selected Business Systems addresses the requirements
and formalities as determined by the National Road Traffic Act of 1996
dealing with the transport by road of hazardous substances and goods.

The problem facing chemical companies
The problem facing chemical companies is the complexity involved in complying with the standards especially where there are several different chemicals on a load.
This is in part due to lack of knowledge or training, as well as in formalizing the following points and procedures:
• What is classed as hazardous goods?
• What is the correct U.N. or S.I.N. for the class of goods being transported?
• What goods may form part of a multi-load (compatibillity) and how they must be loaded on the vehicle?
• What are the responsibilities of the consignor?
• Producing the required documentation.

What are the responsibilities of the consignor?
• Among others, the consignor must ensure that the operator of the vehicle has been advised of the nature, quantities, and hazards relating to the goods being carried.
• The emergency response requirements.
• He must supply all the necessary documentation.
• Ensure that the vehicle is equipped with the appropriate PLACARDS and TREMCARDS and that the goods are compatible.

How does HazDocs address these issues?
We provide the tools to identify your products with the correct U.N. number, classification, packing group, loading and handling information of the cargo.
HazDocs then applies this information to produce the correct documentation and procedures as required by the SANS.

How simple is HazDocs from a users point of view?
Very simply you enter your customer invoice number into the system and HazDocs will extract customer and product data from your accounting system and filter this into our information system. The Manifest/Delivery note, Hazardous Declaration form in the required format, and a Trip Sheet is then printed with all the required Information. All this in a matter of minutes.

If you use outside transporters then the documents can be e-malled to them.
